No big introduction...No bullshit…This is the 23rd edition of the Dynasty. Let’s do it.
Vince McMahon you are a fucking idiot! There I said it. Vincent Kennedy McMahon you are a fucking idiot! You have not and you will never learn from your mistakes.
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane. First there was the terrorist cell angle in which Vince had a group of wrestlers dress up like the terrorists in the middle east who were kidnapping civilians working in the middle east a executing them when the U.S. Military wouldn’t leave their country. The angle went over like a fart in church and drove away God knows how many fans and led to former WWE wrestler Muhammad Hassan being banned from appearing on UPN television.
Then there was the Tim White “on air” suicide during a WWE PPV headlined by a “hell in a cell”. The segment was supposed to convey the message of how bad the hell in a cell can affect a person’s life. Tim White suffered a shoulder injury while reffing a cell match. The segment was supposed to show how the Hell in the Cell match ruined his life. The segment was going pretty good, that is, until White pulled out a firearm from under the counter of his bar. The camera went off White then a shot rang out and White had supposedly killed himself. Immediately the fans filled the arena with “boos”. That segment effectively killed the remainder of the PPV as fans continued to boo throughout. Probably the biggest victim of that segment was the Cruiserweight title match that followed. The fans booed throughout what was a pretty good match. I’m Sure in Vince’s mind the fans weren’t booing the suicide segment, they were booing the Cruiserweight title match.
Now here we are again with the “Death of Vince McMahon” segment. I will admit that when the limo exploded I was intrigued. I thought the storyline could be interesting if done right. But leave it to Vince to do something utterly fucking stupid. Fortunately I never saw the opening “10 bell salute” that started Smackdown otherwise I wouldn’t have seen any of Smackdown. I would have turned it off right then and there. As it was every time a “tribute” segment aired I switched channels. I was also shocked to see that Chavo Guerrero did one of those segments. I don’t know whether or not Chavo had a say in participating in the segment but had it been me, say or no say I would have told Vince to go fuck himself. I wouldn’t have participated in that bullshit not after going through the real thing with Eddie. I also read that Vicky Guerrero was out on the stage during the 10 bell salute. Again I don’t know if she had any say in it, but she should not have been out there. They could have easily explained her absence away by saying she was in another city doing some promotional work for Teddy Long.
Here the problem I have with the “Vince Tribute” show..I was a complete and utter mockery of the tributes that were done for Eddie Guerrero, Brian Pillman and Owen Hart when they died and I’m not talking about some stupid fucking storyline death I’m talking about the real thing! Eddie died when his body gave out after the years drug and alcohol abuse that Eddie over came. Owen Hart died in a tragic accident at the Kemper arena when his harness disengaged and he fell 80 feet to his death. Brian Pillman died alone in his hotel room from a heart attack. A result of a hereditary heart condition (His father also died at a young age from a heart attack). What you did with your little “Tribute” show Vince was a slap in the face of the memories of these 3 men and others like them. It was totally disgusting and totally unnecessary. You could have done a tribute show for yourself. All you had to do was use a completely different format. It s that simple. Instead you chose to mock real tragedies and for that you should be ashamed of yourself.
Here’s how I would done the storyline. The first info to come out after the exploding limo would have been that there was no body found in the limo. Leading to 2 possible conclusions. 1. Vince’s body was completely destroyed in the fire or 2. Vince wasn’t in the limo. The heels in the company would all believe he is dead (So you know he will turn up alive and well) the Faces in the company will believe that Vince staged the whole thing. There would be a tribute show orcestrated by Vince’s lackeys (Brisco, Patterson, and Coach Etc. The show would open with Vince’s lackeys out on the stage trying in vain to get a moment of silence for Vince. Throughout the show Vince’s lackeys would come out to the ring and talk about Vince and how “kind” and “generous” and “loving” etc.. Basically trying to make him out to be a saint instead of the devil. Inevitably someone would come out and rebut the tribute. As the weeks pass there would be images shown on TV of “Vince sightings” across America (a tribute to Undertaker sightings that were done after taker “died”). As the weeks pass by there would be someone who is a little too happy that Vince is gone and someone that is benefiting a little too much with Vince gone. (2 suspects in the limo bombing). If Vince wanted to do something a little risqué with the storyline here’s an idea. At some point Coach sneaks off somewhere the camera crew follows him to some remote location and in to an old rundown building. Coach goes into a poorly lit room where a man with long unkempt grey hair sits back on to the camera. Coach says to the man “Your plan is working perfectly” and the man just silently nods his head. Is this the person responsible for the bombing and is Coach in cahoots with him? No when the man is finally revealed weeks later it’s Vince himself! Only now Vince has long unkempt hair and a long, full and equally unkempt beard. In fact Vince sort of resembles Saddam when he was pulled out of the hole in the ground he was living in. It turns out that the night of the draft Vince received an anonymous call warning him that there was a bomb in the limo. Vince decided to fake his own death in order to flush out the would be assassin.
There you have it a decent storyline if I do say so myself. A storyline that doesn’t insult the intelligence of the fans or cross any boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed. If I could come up with this surely one of those highly paid writers could come up with something as good or better .
That does it for this edition of the Meng Dynasty and as always, feel free to respond to anything you read here.
