Once again it's that time! What time you ask? Time for another edition of the Meng Dynasty!
Lets get to it!
I think it's a damn shame that the Hassan character has been cut down by UPN. In fact it's a load of bullnuts! UPN had 2 days! 2 fucking days!!! to view the taping of Smackdown and edit it accordingly. UPN fucked up and they are making Hassan pay for it.
Whats that you ask? Why am I defending Hassan? I'm not..I'm defending Mark Copani (Hassan's real name). I believe that UPN's banning of the Hassan character will be as damaging to Mark Copani's career as the Red Rooster character was to Terry Taylor. No matter what the WWE does with Mark Copani character wise, fans will still remember him as Muhammad Hassan and they won't let him forget it.
I was just checking out T.E.W. board and a thread about Muhammad Hassan caught my attention. More specifically this particular post by the T.E.W. Administrator caught my attention and prompted this edition of the Dynasty :

Is the Hassan thing so different than when Sgt. Slaughter became an Iraqi sympathize...NO.
Lets go back a little farther...
Is it any different than the way guys like the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Ivan Koloff and Ludwig Borga were used in the eightys and ninties..NO
Lets go with something more recent..
Is it any different than the way the WWE ridiculed the french with La Resistance for not participating in the the liberation of Iraq..NO.
For years great heels were created from simple sterotypes...evil nazis...evil russians..evil japanese..and in this day and age middle eastern terrorists. Hell in Japan they do just the opposite with evil americans..lol.
Roddy Piper said it best when he spoke about who made Wrestlemania 1..."The fans didn't pay to see Hulk Hogan..They paid to see Hulk Hogan beat up Roddy piper...like wise fans don't pay to see characters like Hassan..They pay to see characters like Hassan get their asses kicked..and thats Hassan's job..piss off the fans so they will buy tickets and watch the TV shows to see Hassan get whats coming to him.
The TEW Admin..mentioned that the last time Hassan was seen on TV was the day of the London attacks..you forget that Smackdown is taped on tuesdays..so there is no way that Vince or the WWE could have know those attacks in London would happen.
Now I'm not sure what the TEW Admin meant when he said Vince doesn't care and then used Owen Hart as an example..The only thing I can figure hes talking about is the "Owen Hart Tribute" episode of Raw. How exactly did Vince profit from that? Vince had to do something..He couldn't just put off an episode Raw and act like nothing happened. Yes it had huge ratings but that wasn't the purpose of the episode. The Purpose was to pay tribute to Owen..None of the matches had anything to do with any of the current angles at the time..some of the wrestlers spoke about Owen out of character and some wrestlers paid tribute to Owen in character(ie: the stonecold beer salute). Anyone who believes otherwise about that episode is full of shit.
The Hardy/Edge/Lita love triangle..Matt was fired to try am make the situation go away..it backfired big time so Vince did the only thing he could..Hire Matt back and make an angle out of the whole thing.
I liked what Spaz said in here post in the thread and it is without a doubt the most simple solution..If you don't like what you see on the TV then turn it off! It's as simple as that.
One last thing before I call it a night..Is it me or did ol Kane Darkhart clam up pretty damn fast after I challenged him put his money where his mouth is about DWF's status. What happened Kane? Did you suddenly misplace your testicles?
Anyway that does it for this edition of the Meng Dynasty and as always feel free to respond to anything you read here.
